- Respect the privacy and rules governing the use of any information accessible through the computer system or network, even when that information is not securely protected.
- Vandalism may result in cancellation of network privileges and/or criminal prosecution.
- The St. Gregory's Information Systems department and/or Administration reserves the right to remove without notice and/or not post any page that it deems to be legally, morally, ethically, or otherwise inappropriate or any page not in the best interest of the school. This also includes web pages or sites that unduly tax or strain the network and the web server.
- You are responsible for the user account and password that you use to create the web pages. Do not give your user account information to anyone. If you let someone else use your account and they perform inappropriate actions or vandalism the account will be canceled and you will be held responsible.
- Always remember that the St. Gregorys community and the public as a whole will view your web pages. Our community is diverse, with differing opinions on what constitutes offensive or inappropriate material. We recommend that those who wish to post or publish patently inappropriate or controversial material pay for web space and connectivity with a commercial provider. As stated above, if you have posted material deemed inappropriate and you wish the content to remain on our server you may appeal the decision to the proper authorities.
- Copyright laws should be strictly observed. Do not place copyrighted material, including graphics, on the St. Gregory's web server. Violations of copyright law are the responsibility of you the creator. St. Gregory's will in no way be held liable for copyright violations. Copyrighted material is admissible with proof of consent from the copyright owners. In the event that we discover copyrighted material on a page, the page and all copyrighted material will be removed from the server and the creator of the page will face possible disciplinary action, including termination of all network privileges.
- Students of St. Gregory's University will be allocated a total of 25 megabytes of disk space per person for their web pages. Additional space for web pages will be granted on a case-by-case basis.
- The use of advertising for any business-related activity on a personal site is prohibited.
- Any type of commerce "add-in" for web sites, including, but not limited to search engine boxes is prohibited.
- St. Gregory's University always reserves the right to remove services, deny access, or delete user's email accounts and/or network accounts if such action is deemed warranted by University officials.
- If there are questions concerning the appropriateness of material that a student wishes to publish, please contact the help desk at x. 5686 or email at administrator@stgregorys.edu BEFORE posting the material.
